Welcome back to MortgageMatch!... where our job is making your mortgage easier. Through this primer, we'll be
providing a quick preview and some insights into what's involved in the mortgage process. If you've already applied for preapproval at MortgageMatch, your receipt of this information will happen faster, and in advance of the actual process itself. But, you'll know what to expect, and be better prepared to help move your mortgage forward faster and easier. |
|
We've loosely segmented the mortgage process into seven steps. These seven steps can be followed chronologically,
but will very often overlap each other while a mortgage loan is actually being processed. What's described through this primer will apply to the vast majority of borrowers... in some cases, exceptions may be "no doc" and non-resident alien borrowers. However, what will always be true of the process is how it starts. And, that's what this first step is all about... the simple exchange of information. |
|
If you're a U.S. citizen with a valid social security number, all mortgage lenders and investors will be concerned first
with your credit profile, and in what manner you might document or report your income... or, if you can do it at all. |
|
Providing information which coincides with these issues is vital if you're going to obtain a preapproval, and receive
accurate information about the programs, rates and terms which may be offered to you. |
|
Therefore, your first e-mail from your Loan Consultant will be to establish initial contact, and to obtain the appropriate
information needed to get you started and preapproved. If, at any point along the way, you have a question, please do not hesitate to call us at 1.888.890.5625. We work for your interests, and not those of the lenders and investors. So, Job One for us is to help you get the loan you want. |
|
By the way, successive installments to this first one are: Getting Preapproved, After Preapproval, The Appraisal,
Satisfying Conditions, The Underwriting Process, and Closing and Funding Your Mortgage. If you want more information, faster, without talking to anyone, be sure to visit The Complete Mortgage Guide. And, if you have not already started preapproval, just complete our online Rapid Request form. Convenient, clickable links to both these pages are at the end of this page. |
